Yesterday, May 11

We had a heavy cloud cover all day. The sun never broke thru, leaving us in high 50's and low 60's for the day. That didn't interfere w/ getting outside and taking some photos. Ducks were enjoying the wetlands in the park and neighbors were out walking dogs. It was mostly a "Labrador day" as far as taking photos went.

I'm still wondering if we got the full story from our news sources on the private plane that strayed into restricted airspace over DC. It strikes me as odd that the pilot was a flight instructor w/ a student on board. They must have come rather close to having to be shot down for lack of any communication with any control tower while also flying where they didn't belong.

Last night was a rented video "Collateral." It was a Tom Cruise movie w/ more violence than I care for and I found it too much of a coincidence that two of the major players would become passengers in "Max's" taxi on the same night. Still it did point out (if one were still paying attention by this time) that a person should endeavor to make his/her dream come true instead of thinking "someday" and not making it happen. "Someday" may otherwise never arrive, as life flashes by in a blink. I'm not a Tom Cruise fan, so this also played into my lack of enthusiasm for "Collateral." Cruise has done one film lately that I'd surely give 5 stars to, and that one is "The Last Samurai." By all means see this one. Wonderful cinematography, beautiful scenery, and an exceptionally well done movie. We bought this on DVD for our collection.
